It is Good to Do Good!
And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love! 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 (MSG)
There are so many bad things going on in our world. Everywhere we turn we seem to see hardship, we hear about challenge, and we know all too well about the violence, lack, and instability that surround us. And yet, there is also a lot of good all around us. There are individuals, organizations, and communities fighting daily for justice, peace, equality, and stability in our world. There are many who are simply agents of goodness and grace in their everyday lives, and they do it without fanfare and seeking no accolades.
I am a firm believer that it is good to be good. AND it is good to do good for ourselves and others. Being grateful is also a good thing. This is one reason why we set aside the month of October to celebrate, honor, and thank our Church Staff and Leaders. These are the individuals who work in the scene and behind it, to carry out the relevant and impactful ministry of our church. And, while the last almost two years have been a strain on ministry in so many ways, we have had diligent leaders to steady us and keep us going. I am grateful. Aren’t you?
This month, take some time to overwhelm our Church Staff and Leaders with love and appreciation. We have included a list of leaders in this week’s newsletter, and we have now made it even easier for you to contact one another by assigning everyone an email address. If everyone gives thanks, then everyone will be appreciated. This is a good thing for us to do!
Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. 13 Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 (NLT)
Loving and praying for you,
Pastor Danielle
