Making Plans…
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22 (NIV)
We have made it to the month of September! While this year has not been a total return to our pre-pandemic routines, we have come a long way from two years ago. I am not sure if you realized it or not, but we hit our 1-year anniversary for returning to in-person worship last month (August 14th). Over that time, God has kept us safe as we have worshiped together. Thankfully, we have not had one incident of COVID stemming from our worship services. I am very hopeful that some who have not yet returned to in-person worship will do so soon. And I am grateful for the generosity, precaution, and prayerfulness of our community of faith.
This is the time of year when I start to turn all our attention toward our year-end goals. Have you accomplished what you planned at the start of 2022? Have you rested more? Worked out? Reconnected to family? Read your Bible? If so, great! How has accomplishing these goals impacted you? If you are not quite where you want to be, what will it take to move you forward?
This week, take some time to reflect upon your personal, professional, and spiritual health. What new goals do you need? What old goals can you recommit yourself to fulfilling? Then, open yourself up to the wisdom of others in your life. You do not need to go it alone. Listening to the wisdom, guidance, and experiences of others will help us to succeed.
I will be back in a few weeks to ask you about what you are hearing from God, especially as we gear up for 2023. Our church needs your insight, and your voice is important to where we are going. Thank you for being prayerful, obedient, and courageous as we journey forward. We are yet Becoming.Better.Together.
Loving and praying for you,
Pastor Danielle
