Looking for Jesus

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John 1:14 (NLT)

The Season of Advent is about expectation, anticipation, and preparation for the coming of Christ. One of the ways that we can ensure that we gain all that we can during this time is to constantly be looking for Jesus.

Expect Jesus to show up in your home and family. Anticipate seeing Christ’s face in the faces of your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Prepare to be the vision of the Messiah that someone else needs to behold. Looking for Jesus is an active endeavor. Like so many good things in this life, if we do not look for Him, we just may miss Him. In sickness, don’t let your pain cause you to overlook God’s presence. In grief, do not let your sadness allow you to miss the comfort and joy of remembering your loved one. In confusion, look for reminders that God’s wisdom and strength are all around you. This Advent Season, look for Jesus. Expect Him to be where you are, in fact, make sure that you take Him everywhere that you go. For then, others will be sure to behold Him too.

Loving and praying for you,
Pastor Danielle
