Does it Take All of That!?!
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17 (NLT)
As we prepare to launch into our small group study of the book The Art of Neighboring, I want us to be very prayerful and open to Holy Spirit. The concepts and disciplines expressed by the book’s authors are good, and they will be challenging. When we get into it, we may start to feel as if it doesn’t take “all of that” to be and live on mission for Christ.
Truth is, what God asks of us individually will vary. Nevertheless, there are some universal characteristics (i.e., spiritual fruit (See Galatians 5:22-26)) that are non-negotiable. They are what is produced in our lives when Holy Spirit is present and allowed to work freely. We must agree that we don’t get to pick and choose when and where to share the fruit that Holy Spirit produces in our lives. We are to be salt and light everywhere we go and with everyone that we meet.
I am excited to study together. If you have not signed up for a group, please do so today. Books will be available again on Sunday following worship. Classes are launching next week. Prayerfully, plug in with us. You do not want to miss this time of fellowship and faith building.
Loving and praying for you,
Pastor Danielle
