The Maker of Ways
No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful and will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing [God] will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it. I Corinthians 10:13 (NRSV)
My message today is very simple: God has already made a way for whatever you are going through. If you are tempted to give up on yourself, on life, or on someone else – hold on. If you are thinking about quitting on your dream or to stop pursuing your passion – try one more time. If you feel like you cannot handle the pressure or the pain of this life any longer – take a moment to remember where you have been and envision where you might be.
Jehovah is still making ways. The testing of this life is not meant to destroy you. Testing can come to reveal the quality of our faith and help us to see our great need for God. Be honest with yourself, are you leaning too much on you? Have you told yourself that no one can or will help you – care for your loved one or build that business – so, you don’t even ask for support any more? You were not meant to do life alone. The pain you feel is real and it may be an indication that you need to do something different. Look up! The way of escape might be right in front of you. Trust. Listen. Yield. Obey.
Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So, Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.’ Genesis 22:13-14 (NIV)
