Praying IS Believing!

Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops. James 5:17-18 (NLT)

There are times when prayer can be hard. We may really want to pray, but for some reason, we can’t quite get to it (or through it). Sometimes we don’t pray because we don’t know quite what to say. Other times, we do not pray because we just have not taken the time to develop the discipline and the habit of praying regularly. And sometimes, we don’t pray because we lack faith.

Well, the good news is that there is a remedy for whatever reason you may have for not praying. The answer is prayer. Seriously, when we pray, we learn, we grow our faith, and we overcome our feelings of doubt and fear. Prayer leads to prayer. The more you do it, the more you will want to do it and the more you will understand the power that comes from it.

June is the mid-way point of the year. This is a perfect time to recommit ourselves to prayer. We need it and our families, communities, and world need us to pray without ceasing. When the people of God pray, Jehovah listens. And that may be the very best reason of all to just do it!
