Forever Grateful!
“Savior, more than life to me…let me love Thee more and more!” – Traditional Hymn
By now, you all know how I feel about birthdays. Whether it’s mine or yours, I have never seen a birthday that I did not love! I am humbled and grateful to have celebrated another year of life. I am in awe of God! I am enthralled by the Lord’s goodness and overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity, and love that gets showered upon my life daily. I am thankful for our Clarendon community as well. I appreciate your cards, gifts, texts, emails, and well-wishes. The flowers, candy, words of blessing, and hugs you shared truly mean more than I will ever be able to fully express. Please know that every gesture, even if you simply paused and remembered me or prayed, is appreciated. Thank you!
Gratitude serves such a critical role in our lives. I mentioned on Wednesday’s 7a.m. Prayer Call that living a grateful life can do at least three things for us. First, Gratitude Refocuses our Mind. We can gain a better perspective about whatever we may be going through when we decide to be thankful in the midst of it. Second, Gratitude Reinforces our Faith. Like a good pair of long-johns on a cold winter’s day, gratitude makes our faith warmer, stronger, and better. When you are continually in a posture of thankfulness, your faith cannot help but to grow. Third, Gratitude Refines our Praise. Gratitude is a good vehicle through which to give Christ praise. Moreover, when we can tell God precisely why we are grateful, and not merely give a one-sized fits all platitude, it makes our praise fuller and deeper.
Take a moment today and express to God how grateful you are for your life and for Jesus’ presence in it!
Loving and praying for you,
Pastor Danielle
