God With Us....God For Us
As we begin to prepare for our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting, I want to share this post with you from the Spirit Contemporary Devotional by Leon.
HOW TO PARTNER WITH GOD
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 (NLT)
Today's verse says God works everything for good. If that's true, why do bad things sometimes happen in our lives?
It's important to realize two things. First, we live in a fallen world. And secondly, while Jesus qualifies you for every promise in God's Word, you still have a part to play. Why? Because authority was given to mankind.
That's why prayer is crucial. It's the way you and I partner with God to accomplish His plans on this planet. The Word is full of verses about praying for God's will to be done (Matthew 6:10) and for labourers to take in the harvest (Matthew 9:38). We're also instructed to make our requests to God (Philippians 4:6–7).
Now, if we back up to Romans 8:26, it says Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. And what is that weakness? That we don't know what to pray!
But Holy Spirit wants to guide you in this area. He can bring a certain verse or promise to mind when you need it. If a friend crosses your mind as you're going about your day, take a moment to pray for them. When you see an ambulance rush by, pray for the people they're going to help. The more you practice listening to His guidance, the more sensitive you will be to Holy Spirit's voice.
As you pray the Word out loud, situations turn around. Incredible "happenings" of God's favour begin to overtake your life and the lives of those you pray for. How can you partner with God today?
Loving and praying for you,
Pastor Danielle
